Kiss My Face Printables

It was love at first taste with Kiss My Face toothpaste for me.  Lightspeed Panel sent me some a year or so ago and asked my thoughts about it.  Honestly, I was very very scared to put that all natural green algae stuff in my mouth, but after I brushed once, I was hooked.  Hooked for the duration of the tube they sent me.  Then I found out that not only did my local stores not carry the brand, but if I wanted to order it online it was $7.

Seven.  Dollars.  For toothpaste.  Kiss my what?

While I was out shopping yesterday, I saw some Kiss My Face products in a local store and I actually stopped and thought about throwing one or two in my cart.  Being the frugal femme I am, I then thought, "No, Kiss My Face, only if you send me coupons will I buy you."

Proof that all is good and right with the universe?  Common Sense With Money just posted a link today to the Kiss My Face website where there are 4 coupons just waiting for us to print them.

◦$1.00 off any (1) Full Size Product
◦$2.00 off any (1) Kids Product
◦$2.00 off any (1) Classic Moisturizer
◦$1.50 off any (1) Toothpaste or Mouth Rinse

Enjoy!

Price Chopper Shopping Trip

So yesterday I took my first shot at using my fabulous new coupon skills at Price Chopper. I didn’t do too poorly, considering I don’t usually plan a whole trip there because they are so pricey. I’m also relatively new to the game, so I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find any good deals. I had no need to be nervous.

What brought Price Chopper on my radar this week as a good place to go was the coupon that was in last Sunday’s Post-Standard- an $8 off $50 purchase. I thought, “Surely $50 won’t be hard to rack up in this store, especially with my n00b money-saving skills.” Well, let me say, I even impressed the husband, which is a feat in and of itself.

Because I wasn’t expecting to blog about it, I didn’t note where the coupons came from. Most of them were from my local Sunday paper, which I subscribe to. One definitely came from the January issue of All You. The rest came from the isave machine at the front of the store. The highlights of yesterday’s trip:

(2) Quilted Northern Soft & Strong 12 Double Rolls 2/$12
     $2 iSave Coupon
     (2) $1 Target Printable (manufacturers coupon, not Target)
               2 packages/$8 = $4 ea.

(2) Bags Tostitos Restaurant Style 13 oz Sale $3 Ea & (1) Jar Tostitos All Natural Chunky Salsa $3
Buy 2 Bags Tostitos, Get 1 Jar Salsa/Dip FREE in store coupon
$1 off WYB 1 Bag Tostitos and 1 Jar Tostitos Salsa/Dip (All You,
                                                                                            Jan ’09)
               2 bags + 1 salsa/$5 = $1.66 ea.

(2) Packages Marcal Small Steps Paper Towels 3 Roll $2.99 Ea.
$2 off Marcal Small Steps Paper Towels 3 Rolls or more
$1.50 off Marcal Small Steps Paper Towels 2 Rolls or more
               2 packages @$2.99Ea - $2- $1.50 = $1.24/package

There were more, but since these deals end today, I won’t continue to post them. I will, however, keep you posted on how next week’s deals do. Oh, and about that $8 off $50 coupon?

I walked to the register with $75 worth of groceries, but after coupons and AdvantageCard deals, it only came to $41.86. The $8 was only valid AFTER all the other coupons. Sadness. All in all, a good trip... and a good reminder to read the fine print before you bring a coupon to the store!

ANOTHER Frugal Living Blog???

Yes, it is... but this one is desperately needed! I began couponing a few months ago, in October 2009, in an effort to save money while Christmas shopping for friends and family. I had no idea what an impact using coupons (and a little forethought on my part) would have on my lifestyle or my wallet! All it took was one transaction at Walgreens, when I rang up $40 worth of products for $20 and got back $14 in Register Rewards, for me to become a coupon convert! I am now an avid reader of many excellent money and time saving blogs, which I will reference time and time again. However, there is one void in my new frugal life, and now that the Frugal Map is up and running, I have realized it may be missing in many of your lives as well:

Grocery Chains in the Northeast

I know many (okay, okay, who am I kidding- it’s the VAST MAJORITY) of us who love to save a buck live below the Mason-Dixon line. That’s fine and dandy for all of you who frequent the Publix, Kroger and Safeway. What about those of us who want to know the weekly deals at Price Chopper, Wegmans or (for the time being, anyway) P&C? That’s where I hope to fill in. I don’t want this to be just another Walgreens or Rite Aid blog- and I promise I won’t let you miss out on those deals. This is going to be all that… and MORE. Excited yet? Yeah, me too! Let’s get to $AVING!!
